I happened to be perusing Facebook today when I came across a post that was part of my feed. The exact headline escapes me at the moment but what I can say is that the subject of the story was the first annual Christian witches convention.

Say what?

I had to read that one again. The first annual Christian witches convention?

For many of you reading this, you already know that the word ‘Christian’ and ‘witch’ are two terms that should never be together in the same sentence.

The people organizing this event believe that the Bible is a ‘book of magic’ and that Jesus was a ‘sorcerer.’

They go on to say that the various miracles He did (such as changing water into wine and feeding thousands with just five loaves and two fishes) are all natural things that were accomplished using supernatural means.

I can agree with that part of the statement but I completely disagree with them when they say that Jesus accomplished these things because he was a sorcerer. Honestly, take the word magic and substitute the word miracle and you have exactly what Jesus did. He accomplished all of these things through the Father. These were all miracles and not alchemy.

Being a Christian witch is the exact opposite of what God told Moses to write in the book of Leviticus:

Regard not them that have familiar spirits; neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them; I am the LORD your God.” (Leviticus 19:31 KJV)

And the soul that turneth after such as familiar spirits; and after wizards; to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.” (Leviticus 20:6 KJV)

The New Age movement has begun a slow and steady invasion into the church and some are signing up. I wrote about this in my post titled “The Religion of Oprah”, which you can read here.

We need to vigilant and always apply discernment to anything that is introduced into the church. If you are sitting in your seat and your church begins teaching these things, I would tell you to head for the door as quickly as you can.
