It wasn’t more than a few weeks ago that the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ was all the talk around the water cooler. Even local radio stations were discussing and summarizing each week’s episodes after they aired.
There were a number of people on my office discussing it as well. Naturally, I was asked if I had watched and I told them I didn’t because I felt I didn’t need to see what amounted to ‘soft porn.’
(If you’re new to ‘Game of Thrones’, there is a good amount of sex (including incest), violence, nudity, and some demons and demonic spell casting.)
It wasn’t until I read the article cited here that I made the connection between similar subject matter and demonic invitations.
By watching shows like this, are we inviting demonic spirits to enter into our lives and homes?
Please take a few minutes to read the article. Don’t get caught up in shows like this. It could lead to other things such as pornography or even adultery.
As I see more shows coming out that rely on nudity, violence, and sex, I’m reminded of Paul wrote about in chapter one of Romans. He details how the citizens of Rome (and, I’m sure, other cities) gave themselves over to a ‘reprobate mind’ and engaged in adultery, sodomy, and other forms of uncleanness.
Are these TV shows and literature sending us down that same path?
With the world trying to normalize things such as Gay Pride month, I think the answer to my last question is a huge yes.
