I happened to be going through one of the drawers in my office desk when I came across a credit card sized calendar from 2015 (can you tell I don’t go through it that much?)
On the card was the following version from Proverbs:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5 KJV)
The flip side of the card has the following:
“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27 KJV)
The reason I’m bringing this up is that we are going through a ‘life even.’ Nothing serious. We’re selling our house and moving to a smaller place. It’s just my wife and I so it makes a lot more sense for us. It’s one of those active adult community places.
Let me tell you something. It may seem corny to move into one of those places but my property taxes are going from &7400 a year down to $3100. That’s one big step in the right direction.
And how does all this tie into the verses I mentioned?
As Christians, my wife and I do our best to put our trust in the Lord. And we did it with this move.
We didn’t want to move but we knew that we would never pay off the house in our lifetime. So we gave the decision up to God. And He’s taken us through every step of the way. And for those little things where we didn’t consult Him, it didn’t work out the way we hoped.
When you put your trust in God and let Him guide you through any major decisions, you can be assured that it will work out the way He wants it to. Don’t lean on your own understanding and think that you can plan better than He can. Either way, you’ll end up exactly where He wants you to be.
Remember that through Him, everything is possible.
