I picked up a daily devotional that was sitting on my wife’s desk and opened it to a random page. The title of the devotional on the left side read ‘Soldiers on the Battlefield.’
I felt the need to pick that book up today and God led me to what I thought was a random page and that’s what I read.
What does that have to do with anything? Actually, plenty.
After I read the title and the content of the devotional, I thought about the recent display of blasphemy that was put on at the recent Met Gala.
For those of you who aren’t aware, there was an event that took place at the Met. It’s called the Met Gala. Quite honestly, I don’t know why they have such an event but there are any one of a number of stars who attend this event. Each of theses events has some sort of theme. The attendee’s wardrobe is based on the theme of the event. This year it was Christianity.
I say Christianity because some were dressed in Roman Catholic-like vestments while others were adorned with crosses or religious images. Jared Leto was dressed as Jesus, adorning his head with a mock crown of thorns.
As Christians, we need to call out this kind of mockery and stand against it. We need to call out those who would preach a different gospel and bring the light to bear on them. Those needing to be saved are being led astray by a ‘watered-down’ gospel message.
As soldiers, put on the full armor of God and get yourselves ready.
